Adrian Chesterman studied fine art at Norwich School of Art and illustration at the Royal College of Art in Kensington, London. Since leaving the R.C.A. he has worked in nearly every sphere of the art world. He started with an illustration technique of his own invention which employs airbrush and painted gouache and acrylic inks on artboard or canvas. This technique won commissions from around the world as well as awards including the Gold Mecanorma Award, Paris, 1989.

Around the turn of the millennia Chesterman switched to digital illustration and has worked for just about everyone, film publicity art for Stephen Spielberg, stage-set art for Andrew Lloyd-Weber, advertising commissions for Coca Cola, Singapore Airlines, Busch Beer, Pioneer, Seaworld in Orlando, Ralph Magazine, Southern Sun Hotels, Rolls-Royce and the Mars corporation, book covers for Jackie Collins, Jack Higgins and Dick Francis, a science-fiction series for Penguin, books on dinosaurs and a children's encyclopedia, music album covers including 'Bomber' for Motorhead and 'The Road to Hell' for Chris Rea, produced an animated music video for the Eurythmics and even built and painted a skull and crossbones shaped guitar for Adam and the Ants.

Adrian's first exhibition of paintings was at Liberty's in London's Regent St while still at college, progressing to exhibitions in the Pompidou Centre, Paris; the Gallerie Schémes in Lille, France; the International Contemporary Art Fair, Spinks, Kensington Town Hall; the BBC Centre, London, the Batey Gallery, Singapore; the Madison Gallery in L.A. and numerous exhibitions in Spain. He has appeared on The Riverside Show, 01 for London, Artrage and other Arts programs in the U.K. as well as many T.V. appearances in Spain.
